The District of Bhandara is one of the most important administrative districts of all the administrative ones for the state of Maharashtra. The district has its main centre for administration in the city of Bhandara itself. The land of the district of Bhandara and its nearby area are considered to be the places where the first humans resided. The land was also under the rule of the Maratha kings before being annexed by the Mughals and lastly went on to the hands of the British before being getting Independent. The district is also the largest producer of Rice for the state.
