The district of Wardha is one of the 35 districts that make up the state of Maharashtra. The district is an important part of the Nagpur division of the state. The district of Wardha has its main administrative centre on the city of Wardha itself making a very important city for the Nagpur division. The district has links to the history that can be dated right back to the pre – historic times when the land was inhabited by cavemen. The district was under the rule of the Marathas, the Chalukyas, the yadavs, the delhi Sultanate, the rashtrakutas, etc. The district of Wardha covers a land area of approximately 6322 sq km with a population of about 12.9 lacs individuals. The district has a population density of approximately around 205 people per sq km of the bordered area. The district is not one of the best developed agricultural districts as it does receive funds to help from the Government of India.
