The suburban district of Mumbai is one of the most important districts for the state as it can be practically called as the lifeline of the City of Mumbai. The district has its main centre for administrative works in the city of Bandra itself. The district is primarily made up of three blocks: Andheri, Kurla and Borivali. The district is under the Konkan division and is also called the sister district of Mumbai district. The district has a small river named Mithi flowing to the heartland of this small district. The district of Mumbai Suburban area covers a small area of approximately about 369 sq km with a population density of approximately 25,291 people living in it. The district has a population of 93.3 lacs making it the 5th most populated district of India. The district is also the second smallest district of the state of Maharashtra.
