The district of Dindiri is of extreme importance to the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district is a part of the Jabalpur division with the main centre for administration of the district located in the town of Dindori itself. The district of Dindori is bordered by the state of Chhattisgarh. The district is located in the eastern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district is basically divided into 7 parts in order to aid the task of administration. The district of Dindori covers a land area of around about 6128 sq km with a population of approximately 7 lacs. The density of population of the district is around about 94 individuals which is quite low for the district being in the central state of India. More than 60% of the population of Dindori belong to the tribe of Baiga. The district has agriculture as the main occupation of the people. The district also has many mineral resources.
