The district of Sheopur is located in the northern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district is a part of the Chambal division of the state. The main administrative centre for the district of Sheopur is the city of Sheopur itself. The district is predominantly a tribal district of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district came into being in the year 1998 when land was taken away from the district of Gwalior. The district of Sheopur is further divided into three subs – divisions for better administration. The district of Sheopur covers a land area of approximately around 6606 sq km with a population that amounts up to 6.8 lacs individuals per sq km. The density of population of the districts is around about 104 people per sq km.
