The district of Jabalpur is one of the most important administrative districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district of Jabalpur is situated in a region which is called ‘Mahakoshal’ region because of the fact that it is located between the two river beds of Narmada and Son. The district is the home to the legendary 30 feet high single piece of Marble rock which gives rise to the ‘Dhuan Dhar’ waterfalls which is better known as in the tourist books as ‘The Misty Shoots’. The district of Jabalpur covers a land area of approximately around 10160 sq km with a population of about 24.6 lacs. The district has a population density of 472 individuals per sq km. The main occupation of the people of the district is agriculture which is aided by the fertile black soil that it has. The district of Jabalpur is the 2nd most populated district of Madhya Pradesh after the district of Indore.
