Arwal

The district of Arwal was previously a part the Jehanabad district. The main administrative city of the district is the town of Arwal itself. The district has quite an aggressive recent past. Many people lost their lives in the shoot outs that took place between the Naxalites and the army and police. The mass killing event of the Dalit people in the year 1997 is a black scar on the face of the district.
