The district of Patna is the region that is the main centre for all actions in the state. The city of Patna is the main administrative centre of the district as well as the capital city of the state itself. The district is the main controlling centre for the state with all the important offices and residential places all around the city of Patna. In the year of 1976, the district of Patna was trimmed and the Nalanda district was formed out of it and drafted to the Republic of Indian states. The district of Patna occupies an area of 3202 sq km. The district supports a population of approximately 57 lacs with a population density of 1803 individuals in per sq km. The district is the most populous district of Bihar according to the statistics released by the 2011 Census. The main agricultural products of the district are: Pulses, Wheat, Maize and Paddy.
