The district of Supaul is very much equal to the Anvers Island of Antarvtice in size. The district of Supaul is a part of the Kosi division. The district has its borders with Nepal and the districts of Madhepura, Araria, Saharsa and Madhubani. The district is blessed with the traversal of River Kosi through the heart of the district. Along with being blessed, the district also suffers from heavy floods due to the over flowing of River Kosi. The district came into being in the year 1991when land was scrapped of the Shahrsa district.The district has a land area of approximately 2425 sq km. The population that lives in the district is around 22 lacs individuals. This district has quite a low population density when compared to the other districts of the states with just 919 individuals living in per sq km of Area.
