Jehanabad

The district of Jehanabad is a part of the Magadha Division of the Bihar State. The district of Jehanabad is located at the ‘sangam’ of two very small rivers named Yamunaiya and Dardha. In the ancient times this region was the central region of the mighty Magadha Empire. The district of Jehanabad came to life in the year 1886. The district finds its name from the name of the daughter of Shah Jahan, Jahanara Begum. The district of Jehanabad occupies an area of 932 sq km with an overall urban and rural population of 11 lacs persons approximately. The quality of education that the people of Jehenabad get is quite high as there are many private and well established schools in the district. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of Jehanabad. The district is a part of the list of the 250 most backward districts of India.
