The district of Nawada is a part of the Magadha Division. The district is located sandwiched between the two historical districts of Gaya and Nalanda. The main administrative city of the district is the city of Nawada. During the medieval times, the region of Nawada was a part of The Gupta, The Sunga and The Magadha Empires. The district of Nawada occupies a land area of 2494 sq km with a population of about 2216653 individuals. The population density of the district is approximately 900 individuals per sq km.
