The district of Bhagalpur is the main administrative district of the Bhagalpur division. The main city of the Bhagalpur district is the city of Bhagalpur itself. The district of Bhagalpur has the mighty Ganges flowing through the heart of the district. A major part of the fertile gangetic basin falls in the district.
